Stone Ribbon
Stone wraps the base of the Lake Austin House and creates a plinth that is continuous and yet carved away in many places. Rather than feeling heavy we wanted the stone to feel like a woven fabric or ribbon wrapping the house. This is achieved with 4" x 60" stone profiles - one flat and the other beveled laid in a regularized random pattern whose repetition is obscured.
